HOUSTON – The Houston SPCA and Harris County Constable Precinct One are investigating a video that surfaced Monday that shows a dog owner using what appears to be a leash and a shoe to continuously strike the canine approximately more than 20 times.
The incident occured in a Katy area neighborhood.
According to the constable’s office, no charges have been filed yet due to the ongoing investigation.
“We rely on our community’s eyes and ears, so it’s critical that animal abuse be reported immediately, especially when it involves violence towards animals,” said Adam Reynolds, Chief Animal Cruelty Investigator for the Houston SPCA.
