Man sentenced for 25 years after pleading guilty to trafficking 14-year-old girl

HOUSTON– A 26-year-old male will face 25 years in prison for sex kidnapping a then 14-year-old girl from Dallas and forcing her into sex trafficking schemes.

Trevien Thomas pleaded guilty in January to compelling prostitution with someone younger than 18 and trafficking a child, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

According to court documents filed in Harris County District Court,  Thomas, also known as “Triggah,” met the 14-year-old girl in a motel room on May 20, 2016, and got her into a car by smoking an unidentified substance with her.

Thomas told the teen they were going to Walmart, but instead drove from Dallas to Houston. The documents state Thomas had firearms and threatened to kill her if she did not listen to him.

On May 27, 2016, the victim said she was forced into a gold four-door car in a motel parking lot that drove her to meet a man between the ages of 20 and 30. The teen told officers the man drove her to an inn and told her “you know what to do” before sexually assaulting her.

The next day, the teen was able to escape from Thomas.

Senior US District Judge Nancy Atlas sentenced Thomas to 300 months – or 25 years — behind bars for his actions.

The Houston Police Department conducted the investigation with assistance from the FBI Organized Crime Task Force. The Dallas Police Department also assisted with the investigative effort.
