Suspect arrested in fatal stabbing on Bissonnet St.

HOUSTON – Charges have been filed against a suspect after a man was pronounced dead following a stabbing incident that occurred earlier this week.

Sadis Alonzo Martinez-Ortez, 26 has been charged with murder and aggravated assault of a family member that occurred in the 11200 block of Bissonnet St. on Wednesday (March 10).

The identity of the victim, 35, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

According to HPD officers they responded to a stabbing call in a parking lot around 9:15 p.m. the victim was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

A witness at the scene informed officers that an altercation took place between the victim and suspect then as it escalated the suspect chased after the victim and stabbed him several times.

Martinez-Ortez was later located, arrested and subsequently charged in the case.
