MINNEAPOLIS -The high-profile murder trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was scheduled to begin today.
Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, died after Chauvin was seen kneeling on the neck of George Floyd in a viral video causing international outrage.
Chauvin is now set to appear in court for second-degree unintentional murder and second-degree manslaughter in Floyd’s death where he pleads his innocence.
The trial will be live-streamed from a courtroom with limited capacity due to COVID-19 on Tuesday (March 9).
