HOUSTON – Charges have been filed against a suspect connected in a fatal shooting in the 700 block of East Whitney Street.
The shooting took place on Monday (April 19) leaving two men dead and wounding two others.
The suspect, Tracye Cash, 28, has been charged with capital murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He remains hospitalized with a gunshot wound.
The deceased victims were identified as Patrick Rashad Price, 25, and Robert Palmer, 27.
Two other victims, a male, 28, and a female, 30, drove to another location and were transported to area hospitals where they were treated and released with minor gunshot injuries.
HPD Homicide Division reported:
Officers were dispatched to a shooting at the above address and found a vehicle in the middle of the street with Mr. Price lying on the street behind the vehicle and Mr. Palmer lying nearby, on a driveway, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Houston Fire department paramedics arrived and pronounced the two men deceased at the scene.
Officers also found a third male, Tracye Cash, near the vehicle. He had a sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital where doctors stated he is expected to survive.
Two additional victims, a man and a woman, sustained gunshot wounds in this incident. It was determined they were innocent bystanders traveling in a vehicle when gunfire broke out. The two drove to a business on the North Freeway service road, where they asked for help. An ambulance was called and the man and woman were transported to a hospital.
After further investigation, Cash, was identified as the shooter and he was subsequently charged.
