Homeless man shot, killed on Bauman Road

HOUSTON – Houston police have launched investigation after a homeless person was shot and killed at an encampment on the city’s north side.

According to Lt. R. Willkens with the Houston Police Department, the shooting took place in the 9800 block of Bauman.

A witness told police that he and the victim were in the area when a Hispanic man dressed all in black walked up and started shooting. 

The witness said he did not have a phone, so he had to run around the corner to a friend’s house to call police for help.

After the incident, officers searched the area for the suspect but he was not located.
