HOUSTON – Police are investigating a shooting incident that has led to a 15-year-old girl’s death in southeast Houston.
The shooting was reported at an apartment complex in South Green around 12:30 a.m. Friday.
When officers arrived at the location, they found a 15-year-old girl dead from a gunshot wound.
HPD told that the 15 year-old girl was known to run away. Her mom and stepfather had been searching for her for a few days.
She was located by her brother and his girlfriend at an apartment complex.
“When they found her, the brother came back to this location. He had a pistol. [He] was holding the 15-year-old girl, assuming he tried to keep her from running away, scaring her, I’m not sure. We’re still trying to locate him,” Lt. R. Willkens said.
“He went to one of the apartments over here and was asking one of the tenants to get her property. Evidently she had some things there. [He] got that stuff and was leaving. The individuals in that apartment heard a pop,” he added.
At the moment, police are looking for the victim’s brother to determined how the girl was shot and killed.
