Man accused of selling stolen truck tailgates shot in northwest Houston

HOUSTON – A man accused of selling trucks’ stolen tailgates was shot and injured by an unknown person in northwest Houston.

The shooting was reported in the 2000 block of Wirt Road near Amelia at about 11:30 p.m. Monday. 

According to investigators, the man was allegedly attempting to complete an online sale for stolen tailgates. While the seller and potential buyers were at the scene, a suspect in a pickup truck pulled up and opened fire on them. 

The seller got injured in the incident. He was sent to the hospital and is expected to recover.

Authorities are trying to figure out if the suspect is connected to the people involved.
