One dead after truck hits Florida Pride parade spectators

At least one person was killed and another injured on Saturday (June 19) after a truck run over participants at the start of the Stonewall Pride Parade and Festival in Wilton Manors, Florida, according to local media.

Eyewitness video posted online showed people lying on the ground as first responders and others tried to administer first aid.

According to NBC, one of the victims died from their injuries, and another is in critical condition.

NBC affiliate WTVJ said the truck, clad in a rainbow flag, was part of the parade route with other floats. The driver has been apprehended and police are actively investigating the incident.
