Woman killed in auto-pedestrian crash near Griggs

HOUSTON – A woman has died after she was struck by a vehicle on northbound lanes of Gulf Freeway. 

As per initial information, the woman was walking in the first lane of the freeway.

A female driver was traveling in the same lane when she spotted the pedestrian at the last second. She swerved to avoid her but could not.

The pedestrian was struck, and thrown over the K Rail and into the HOV lane in the middle of the freeway. 

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the crash, the driver stayed at scene and cooperated with the investigation.
