Four pedestrians including 2 children struck by vehicle in Hempstead

HOUSTON – At least four people, including two children, were injured after a vehicle struck them in Hempstead Monday night.

According to police, the family was walking near 6th Street when they were hit by a Chevy Suburban. 

Police said the driver was detained and will be checked for possible intoxication.

The victims include two adult women and two children. 

Both women, one of which is pregnant, had to be flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital via LifeFlight in critical condition.

Both children were also moved to the hospital, however, their condition is unknown at this time. 

Further investigation is underway.
