New York police officer saves stabbing victim using potato chip bag

A New York police officer is being hailed as a hero for saving a stabbing victim’s life by using an empty potato chip bag and some tape.

Officer Ronald Kennedy arrived at the crime scene in Harlem on July 7, where a man was bleeding profusely from his chest, according to the New York Police Department.

“Go get me a bag of potato chips right now,” Kennedy is heard calling out to bystanders in body camera footage.

Upon receiving the bag, he rips it open and pours the chips on the ground before taping it to the victim’s chest to stop the bleeding.

The NYPD, citing the attending physician at Harlem Hospital, said Kennedy’s actions saved the victim’s life.
