HOUSTON – Houston police have launched investigation after two men died and a woman got injured in a shooting incident at the Downtown Aquarium Thursday night.
The incident happened took place in the bar area of Downtown Aquarium’s restaurant on Bagby Street around 8:10 p.m.
a man and woman were at the restaurant’s bar having dinner when the suspect, who was sitting at the opposite end of the bar, got up and started firing shots at the couple before turning the gun on himself.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the victims were sitting at the bar having dinner. Meanwhile, suspected shooter, who was sitting on the other side of the bar, went up to the couple and opened fire, before shooting himself once.
Both men died at the scene, whereas, the female has been shifted to the hospital in stable condition.
“This suspect got up, and in a very quick manner, went around the bar to the area where the male and female were together,” HPD Executive Assistant Chief Matt Slinkard told reporters.
“At the time, the suspect immediately starting firing rounds. The deceased male immediately went down. The female who was injured went down as well, and then, from the footage that we’ve seen, this person we know to be our suspect that’s deceased on the scene immediately committed suicide with one self-inflicted gunshot wound,” he added.
“From our preliminary look the footage, it does not appear they were together. So this could be a stranger incident. And so that’s what we are working on right now. We have very little to go on, except that footage.”
Investigation is underway.
