Lakewood Church opens doors for supply drive to aid Hurricane Ida

Pastor Joel Osteen and Lakewood Church is prepping ahead of time in the case Louisiana may need help. Lakewood Church opens doors for evacuees from Louisiana due to Hurricane Ida, if needed, along with hosting a two-day drive to gain supplies to aid in relief efforts.

“We are preparing to help the people coming from New Orleans and Louisiana, we saw so many of them evacuating today. We just want them to know that Lakewood is open if they need a place to stay, we will accommodate as many as we can safely,” said Joel Osteen, pastor of Lakewood Church

In efforts to support our sister state, Houston is planning ahead of time in the case of necessary aid for the evacuees from Louisiana. As we’ve learned from Hurricane Harvey, expect the unexpected.

Mayor Sylvester Turner is in communication with the mayor of New Orleans and Louisiana officials to prepare for what may come.
