A shooting outside the Pentagon on Tuesday (August 3) resulted in several casualties after a Pentagon police officer was attacked, with law enforcement offering few details but saying there is no “threat to our community.”
“This morning at about 10:37 AM, the Pentagon police officer was attacked on the Metro bus platform,” Pentagon Force Protection Agency Chief Woodrow Kusse said at a news conference.
“Gunfire was exchanged and there were several casualties,” he said. “The incident is over, the scene is secure and most importantly there is no continuing threat to our community,” he added.
The Pentagon was temporarily placed on lockdown after the incident.
