Woman dead, man injured head-on crash in southeast Houston

HOUSTON – A woman has been killed and a man was seriously injured after their car struck a truck in southeast Houston Tuesday.

The head-on crash occurred in the 9400 block of Winkler Drive around 11:30 p.m.

According to investigators, an adult male driver and a female passenger were trapped inside a silver sedan after the car veered into oncoming traffic and struck a family’s pickup truck. 

Both were extricated and moved to Memorial Hermann, but the woman could not survive

Officers said there were three people including a man, a woman and their infant daughter in the pickup truck.

Father of the child suffered minor injuries, whereas, the 6-month-old remained unhurt but was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Officers believe the driver of the sedan may have been intoxicated as they have found alcohol bottles inside of the car.
