Driver rescued from crashed 18-wheeler in north Houston

HOUSTON – Traffic was disrupted on the westbound lanes of the 610 N Loop at I-45 after an 18-wheeler overturned near the Heights area early Wednesday morning.

It took firefighters about 25 minutes to cut the big driver from the cab. He was transported to a nearby trauma center where his condition is said to be stable.

A heavy-duty wrecker was called to move the 18-wheeler off the freeway.

The westbound lanes were cleared around 7 a.m. after remaining shut down for about four hours.
