Intoxicated wrong-way driver detained on North Freeway

HOUSTON – An intoxicated driver has been arrested after a police chase on North Freeway early Thursday. 

HPD units were notified about the wrong-way driver traveling on the N 610 Loop around 2:40 a.m.

Officers were able to catch up to the driver traveling northbound in the southbound lanes.

Meanwhile, Montgomery County units were able to shut down the southbound lanes near Creighton Road. 

The deputies spiked the suspect at least once and pursued the suspect after the freeway was shut down to traffic.

The suspect finally came to a stop right before Creighton and was detained by the deputies.

The officers believe the suspect is intoxicated.
