Man shot and killed in northeast Houston

HOUSTON – Police are looking for the suspects after a man was shot and killed in northeast Houston Monday night. 

The shooting was reported around 11:15 p.m. in the 6500 block of Winfield. 

Police said three occupants of a white pickup truck were confronted by a car full of people at a Valero station on Mt. Houston. 

The pickup left, but the suspects followed them.

The suspects opened fire on the pickup on Winfield, and the victims fled to the parking lot of Yes Prep where they called police for help.

A male occupant in the back seat was hit by gunfire and succumbed to his wounds inside the vehicle.

Homicide detectives have launched investigation into the incident.
