Robbery suspect injured in apparent self-defense shooting

HOUSTON – Deputies are investigating a Wednesday night shooting that left a robbery suspect injured near Hobby Airport.

The incident was reported in the 8600 block of Airport Boulevard around 10:55 p.m.

The complainant told police he was walking from his house to a gas station when he was approached by another male in the parking lot. 

The man then showed his pistol and tried to rob him.

The complainant, who was also armed, pulled out his gun and shot the suspect in his face.

Police said the suspect was rushed to the hospital and is expected to survive.

The shooter was cooperating with the investigators.
