Texas Governor Abbott says worst of Delta variant may be over

Governor Greg Abbott on Friday (September 17) said Texas may have “already seen the worst of the Delta variant”, adding that he hoped people will soon be able to get back to their normal activities.

His comments come as state health officials reported 377 deaths on Friday, pushing the Texas COVID-19 death toll to 60,357, FOX 4 reported.

About 49 percent of Texans are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, the New York Times reported.
