Two woman killed in separate auto-pedestrian crashes

HOUSTON – Two women were killed overnight in separate auto-pedestrian crashes in the Houston area.

On North Freeway, a woman was hit and killed when she ran out onto the roadway.

Deputies believe the occupants of the Chevy Silverado were going home from a bar when they got into an argument.

The driver of the pickup stopped on Crossington Way, and the female exited the truck. She was struck by two vehicles as she ran onto the main lanes of 45.

Deputies said the drivers of both vehicles remained on scene and there were no signs of impairment.

The second incident was reported in northeast Houston where a driver suspected of being under the influence ran over and killed a woman who was laying on the road.

Witnesses told police that the female got into an argument with her boyfriend and then laid in the lanes of Homestead road.

She died on the scene after a Hispanic male driving a blue truck struck her.

Police said the driver is only being charged with DWI.
