Man breaks into 2 homes, tries to sexually assault woman

HOUSTON – A suspect has been taken into custody after he broke into two women’s homes in west Houston overnight.

The incidents were reported in a gated community in the 1200 block of Norman Woods Street around 2:40 a.m.

According to HPD Westside’s Sgt S Hendrie, both women were home alone at the time of the burglaries.

In the first incident, a woman woke up to a black male wearing a ski mask standing at the foot of her bed. The suspect fled out of the house as she started screaming and called 911 for help.

Police officers arrived and secured a perimeter.

The suspect was taken into custody as left a second residence and attempted to leave the gated community.

During the investigation, officers learned that the suspect attempted to have sex with the second victim. The suspect may have asked to have sex, or attempted to coerce the female.

The suspect was identified by both victims in a field show up.

He is facing charges of burglary with intent to commit theft and burglary with intent to commit a felony.
