Suspect detained at Hillcroft Avenue after lengthy police chase

Missouri City – A suspect has been taken into custody in the 14600 block of West Hillcroft Avenue after a lengthy police chase early Tuesday.

Precinct 7 deputies started chasing a white cargo van around 1:15 a.m. after the driver refused to stop.

Deputies pursued the suspect for over 20 minutes on the Beltway, Southwest Freeway, Highway 90 and the Fort Bend Parkway Toll Road.

After some time, the units were able to deploy spike strips and the two front tires of the van came off but the suspect was able to continue fleeing on the Fort Bend Parkway Toll Road before the right rear tire shredded away as well.

The suspect exited the Fort Bend Parkway near the Beltway and pulled into a gas station where he was taken into custody.

It is unknown why deputies were chasing the vehicle.
