Woman causes multi-vehicle crash involving Houston police, HCSO deputies

HOUSTON – Authorities are investigating a multi-vehicle crash involving Houston police and Harris County Sheriff’s deputies. 

The crash happened in the northbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway near the Beltway around 1:45 a.m. on Thursday. 

Investigators said a woman driving a silver Ford Fusion first hit an HPD cruiser. She hit the cruiser so hard, it spun the car and pushed into another HPD car and one HCSO pickup truck.

The female was transported by HFD to an area hospital with a few broken bones.

Luckily, no officer was hurt in the incident. 

Police said there is a suspicion of DWI and if confirmed, DWI as well as intoxicated Assault charges will be filed against the female driver.

After the crash, all inbound lanes were closed for several hours for the investigation.
