Man in critical condition after major crash on East Freeway

HOUSTON – A driver has been moved to the hospital in critical condition after a major rollover crash on East Freeway early Wednesday.

The crash was reported around 3:30 a.m. at Westbound i10 near Mercury. 

According to investigators, a male driver, believed to be 25 to 30 years old, was involved in a solo vehicle crash that was traveling at a high rate of speed on main lanes of i10.

The vehicle left the roadway and flipped between three and five times before coming to rest on the feeder road.

The driver is reported to have been ejected from the car during the crash. He was moved to Ben Taub Hospital for treatment.
