Man shot, injured near Werner Street

HOUSTON – A man is recovering in the hospital after he was shot and injured at the intersection of Sunnyside and Werner early Monday. 

As per initial details, the male victim was walking in the parking lot of the apartment when he was shot in the chest. 

Arriving Houston police officers rendered medical aid until the Houston Fire Department crews took over the treatment.

The victim was transported to a nearby trauma center in stable condition. He is expected to survive.
