Two deputies shot, suspect killed in northwest Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY – Two Harris County deputies were injured and a suspect got killed during a shootout in northwest Harris County.

The incident occurred in the 6600 block of Amberfield Lane near Barker Cypress and FM 529.

Initially, the deputies responded to reports of shooting inside a residence. As they arrived at the location, they were confronted by an armed suspect.

During the shootout, one deputy was struck in the leg while the other deputy was also struck in the leg and received a graze wound to the head.

HCSO confirmed that the suspect was killed in retaliatory fire.

Both deputies were transported to Memorial Hermann in stable condition.
