Catalytic convertor thieves caught after high-speed chase on North Freeway

HARRIS COUNTY – Three suspects involved in catalytic convertor theft were detained after a high-speed chase Wednesday night.

The pursuit began in northwest Harris County and ended in Acres Homes area.

It was reported that deputies attempted to stop a vehicle matching the suspect description. The suspects went southbound on Interstate 45 at speeds in excess of 120 miles per hour.

Eventually, the suspects crashed out at 8401 Wheatley, and the three occupants fled on foot.

All three were taken into custody a short time later by HPD and HCSO with assistance from DPS 102.

Four catalytic convertors were located inside the trunk of the fleeing vehicle.
