(FORT BEND, TX) – On Tuesday, March 1st, Fort Bend County Judge KP George overwhelmingly won the Democratic nomination to lead the top of the ticket in Fort Bend County, with an early vote percentage of almost 70%. As reported by the Fort Bend County Elections Office, County Judge KP George also decisively won more than 90% of the voting precincts in Fort Bend County early voting.
“Fort Bend County voters overwhelmingly voted to select me and the most diverse slate of candidates in Fort Bend history. Together, we will stand united and represent every person that lives in our beautiful community,” said County Judge KP George. “We will continue to move Fort Bend forward by making our county more effective, engaging, and efficient for ALL.”
Judge George was elected as the highest elected official of Fort Bend County on Jan 1, 2019. He is the first Fort Bend County Judge of color and of Asian descent. Under the leadership of Judge George, the county has enjoyed positives since he first took office in 2019. He has successfully managed COVID-19 testing and vaccination efforts, resulting in Fort Bend County being in the top five of the State’s vaccination rate.
Additionally, he managed the launch of major initiatives such as the Utility, Rental and Mortgage Assistance program, Childcare Voucher program, Small Business Emergency Grant program, Small Business Mentorship program, We All Eat Texas, and the Get Hired employer hiring incentives program. Commercial development is thriving in Fort Bend County with the expansion of Frito Lay, the Amazon fulfillment center , a partnership with Texas State Technical College and Tesla, and much more. Faith and family are priorities for Judge George. He attends Sugar Creek Baptist Church and is married to a longtime Fort Bend ISD teacher. They are the proud parents of three Fort Bend graduated children.
