Man shot while trying to stop catalytic converter thieves in NW Houston

HOUSTON – A car owner was shot and injured after getting into a confrontation alleged catalytic converter thieves in in northwest Houston early Thursday.

The incident happened around 12:30 near the 5700 block of Thousand Oaks Circle.

According to investigators, the victim came out and observed the suspects possibly stealing catalytic converter from his pickup. As he confronted them, a suspect came out from under his truck and shot him.

Following the shooting, three black male suspects fled in a grey charger. The victim was transported by ambulance and is expected to survive.
