Barricade situation ends after suspect surrenders in Cypress

CYPRESS – A barricade situation ended after nearly five hours as the suspect surrendered before the Swat team Wednesday night.

HCSO deputies were in the 17800 block of Woodsburgh Lane to take a male into custody on a warrant for weapons charges.

The 31-year-old male chose to barricade himself inside the residence and a standoff ensued.

Deputies attempted to talk the man out for near five hours before SWAT responded. The male eventually surrendered peacefully around 9:15 pm.
