Meet La’eeb, official mascot for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup

FIFA revealed first-look images of La’eeb, the official mascot for the Qatar 2022 World Cup on Friday (April 1).

La’eeb, an Arabic word meaning ‘super-skilled player’, is described as a ‘flying character who is ageless and full of warmth, energy, and positivity’.

Hailing from the ‘Mascot-verse’, La’eeb’s form is of a traditional Arabian shawl that is fashioned from a square scarf and usually made from cotton.

La’eeb, a football fanatic with close ties to the host nation, ‘hopes to bring the joy of football to everyone, everywhere when the FIFA World Cup arrives in Qatar’ and wants all to believe in his mantra: ‘Believe in yourselves as Now is All’.
