Pickup truck driver hits, kills pedestrian in west Houston

HOUSTON – A driver was detained after he struck and killed a man who was crossing the street in west Houston Sunday night.

The driver’s wife and children were also inside the pickup truck at the time of the crash.

Investigators told that a Hispanic male in his early 30s was in the northbound lanes of Kirkwood when he was struck by the pickup truck traveling northbound.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS.

Police told that possible intoxication of the driver is being investigated but the deceased pedestrian was also not crossing at a crosswalk.
