Suspect arrested for stabbing Surfside PD officer

HOUSTON – A suspect involved in the stabbing of a Surfside PD officer has been detained after leading police on a chase Thursday night.

According to HPD, undercover officers located a vehicle that was believed to be related to the stabbing of a Surfside officer.

Officers followed the suspect and when marked units attempted to stop the suspect he fled and a short pursuit ensued.

The officers were able to pit the suspect at Houston and Washington avenues. He then complied with officers and was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect had a knife on him, however, it was unclear if that was the weapon used in the stabbing.

At this point, the suspect is facing charges of felony evading but will be charged with the stabbing after officers continue with their investigation.
