Super Blood Moon seen over the U.S.

In parts of the U.S., the moon took on a reddish orange appearance, dubbed a Super Blood Moon on Sunday (May 15) during a lunar eclipse.

During a total lunar eclipse, the whole of the lunar disc enters the Earth’s umbra, so moon watcher in the Midwest and Western U.S. were able to see a full, reddish orange Moon which lasted about 14 minutes before the moon moved out of Earth’s umbra and back into its penumbra. In total, the lunar eclipse lasted several hours.
