Staff at Russia’s rebranded McDonald’s restaurants were busy putting the finishing touches to their flagship branch on Sunday (June 12) as the restaurant chain was set to open.
The big unveiling, includingof the new name of the chain, was set to take place at an iconic branch on Moscow’s Pushkin Square, where the U.S. burger chain first opened in the Soviet Union in January 1990.
McDonald’s left the Russian market and sold its business after Moscow sent troops into Ukraine.
